A Bit About Sam
Samantha Stonerock is a seasoned voice teacher, music director, and performer based in the Phoenix Valley. She holds a BME in Choral Music Education from Northern Arizona University and an MM in Vocal Pedagogy for Contemporary Commercial Music (CCM) from Shenandoah Conservatory. She has previously served as a licensed music educator in public schools, music director in various musical theater productions, and as Artistic Director for various choral ensembles.

Samantha has music directed a wide range of musical theater, choral, and a cappella productions across Arizona, Nevada, and Virginia—including the pilot production of 17 Again: The Musical in Las Vegas. Through her private studio, Contemporary View Voice Studio, she specializes in teaching vocalists ages 9 and up how to functionally sing jazz, pop, rock, and musical theater. She has adjudicated NATS competitions and led vocal masterclasses and lectures nationwide. Samantha is proud to return to TheaterAlive this fall for her fourth semester as music director!
As a performer, Samantha has appeared in over 30 productions. Favorite roles include the Beggar Woman (Sweeney Todd), Sarah (Company), Enid (Legally Blonde), and Matilda Hyde (All Shook Up). Her performance background also includes a cappella ensembles, caroling groups, handbell choirs, and solo work in both classical and contemporary genres.
Samantha’s approach to teaching voice is influenced by her studies on the anatomical function of the singing voice, exercise physiology, motor-learning principles, and student-led learning. With a focus on creating a safe, encouraging, and collaborative learning environment, Samantha believes that all singers are capable of achieving their vocal goals. She is proud to share her expertise in both the choral and contemporary music with her students and actively advocates for healthy vocal production for all styles of music.
